Brazil, Azerbaijan discuss bilateral relations

Baku - Azerbaijan's ambassador to Brazil, Elnur Sultanov, has met the mayor of the city of Salvador, Antonio Carlos Magalhaes Neto, during his visit to the country's Bahia State.
They discussed the establishment of intercity cooperation, exchange of experience, and stressed the importance of the reciprocal visits.
The ambassador informed the mayor on the current state of Azerbaijan-Brazil relations, as well as on modern and rapid development of the regions of Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani diplomat also met with the secretary of Bahia State government for international issues, Suzanna Sa, and discussed prospects for cooperation between Bahia State and Azerbaijan in the fields of economy, education, sports and culture.
The ambassador spoke of the Azerbaijan-Brazil relations, as well as projects being implemented in various fields, including humanitarian ones.
Suzanna Sa said the State of Bahia was interested in establishment of relations with Azerbaijan, and has made several relevant proposals.
Promotion of cooperation between the Federal University of Bahia and Azerbaijani universities has been discussed during the ambassador's meeting with rector Dora Leal. The rector of the Federal University informed the Azeri diplomat on the history and education programs of the university.
Sultanov said the Azerbaijani government paid special attention to development of education in the country, and informed the rector about the State Program on education of youth abroad.
The ambassador presented materials on Azerbaijan's history, culture and modern development.
