2 June 2005
On 2 June 2005 New Straits Times reported:
'Evidence suggests that Transcendental Meditation (TM) may not only reduce stress, but also may help adults with high blood pressure to live longer.' The results of a recently published study on TM was one of the health news items highlighted in 'In Small Doses', a regular health column in the Malaysian news source.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of health.
The article quoted leading researcher and author of the study, Dr Robert H. Schneider as saying, 'There are many non-drug techniques for reducing blood pressure, but none. . . extend life.'
He was also quoted as saying that the study shows 'you can live longer with a mind-body intervention'.
The research reviewed the data from two earlier studies that showed that TM not only helped decrease blood pressure, but also increased longevity. The group that learned TM were 23 per cent less likely to die from any cause.
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
