Limiting stress can be as important to good health as eating well
by Jennifer Motl

On 6 June 2005 The Free Lance-Star reported:
Jennifer Motl, a registered dietitian and a writer for the Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star (US), urged readers to pay more attention to limiting stress, saying that it was almost as important to good health as 'eating right and staying active'. Motl referred to various studies on meditation, including the Transcendental Meditation Programme, showing the profound physical and mental changes triggered by reducing stress.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of health.
Motl noted that the research on stress and health is compelling. She looked at research studies, including those from Duke University Medical Center, Stanford University, and Mumbai, India. She cited the study published in the Journal of Hypertension, which showed that the Transcendental Meditation Programme helped African-Americans reduce their blood pressure by 11 points, more than twice the change of any of the other modalities used in the study.
She ended the article by saying, 'It's sad that in fast-paced America some people think of relaxation as laziness. In fact, some downtime is key to managing stress and health.'
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
