On 23 January 2006 Upstate House Magazine reported: Plans for the first home built according to the ancient architectural principles of Sthapatya Ved are underway in New York, USA. Upstate House Magazine reported that 'Sthapathya Ved. . .dictates the precise layout, orientation, and dimensions. . .for a building that is aligned most closely with the laws of nature, and thereby maximizes the well-being of its inhabitants.' It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of health.

Elizabeth and Hollis Taggart are building their third Sthapatya Ved house, this time in Bedford Hills, New York. They had been renting in the area, but were inspired to find land and build again when their seven-year-old son said that he felt less protected than when living in their previous homes, which were constructed according to principles of Vedic Architecture.

Another couple, Terry and Bernard Nevas, are also residents of a house built according to the principles of Sthapathya Ved. Their home of four years in Weston, Connecticut, is their second Sthapathya Ved home. The Nevases say that in this 'airy, sun-filled, 4,200-square-foot home situated at the top of a winding, tree-lined driveway' they have 'never been better. Their sleep is refreshing, their meals are nourishing, their work is productive.'

An important aspect of the Nevas's house is its eastern entrance. The article reports that 'According to Vedic principles, the orientation of the entrance governs an array of influences. East, the most advantageous direction, promotes enlightenment and fulfilment, while south, the least desirable, brings destruction and loss. If an east-facing entryway is impossible, north is an acceptable alternative.'

The article states that the Nevases 'learned of Sthapathya Ved through their over 30 years of meditation and involvement with Transcendental Meditation. They are the directors of the Maharishi Enlightenment Center of Mid-Fairfield County, currently located in their home, where they teach meditation.'

According to the article 'Sthapathya Ved buildings have been constructed across the globe in an assortment of styles, including log cabins, Swiss chalets, and stone villas.'

Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
