US: Five-day live satellite radio broadcast from the Raj reaches hundreds of thousands

Recently Deborah Ray, the host of 'Healthy Talk Radio', a well-known satellite radio show in the US, was a special guest for five days at the Raj Maharishi Ayurveda Health Spa in Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa. The Raj has gained a reputation as 'one of the top five health spas of the new millennium'; each day of her stay there Ms Ray did a three-hour live broadcast of her show, which draws over 100,000 listeners every 15 minutes.

Part of Ms Ray's experience at the Raj involved her participation in a toxicity analysis, which measured levels of toxins in her system before and after her five-day Maharishi Rejuvenation Therapy treatments (traditionally known as Panchakarma). Research has shown that these treatments can remove over 50 per cent of blood levels of fat-soluble toxins such as lead, PCBs, and dioxins in the human physiology. Detoxification is a major health factor currently due to the tremendous amount of pollution and other environmental problems in the earth, air, and water.

Ms Ray was also the subject of a brain mapping study to measure brain coherence. On her first evening Dr Alarik Arenander, director of the Brain Research Institute at nearby Maharishi University of Management, measured her brain wave activity, and again after her fourth day of treatment, finding a marked improvement in the coherence of her brain. Ms Ray practises Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Programme, and Dr Arenander also did a study before and after her TM practice; during one broadcast they discussed how 'beautiful' her brain waves were.

This five-day radio broadcast event was heard by a great number of people in the US and showcased many top speakers from the Maharishi University of Management community including Maharishi Vedic City, totalling about 14 to 15 speakers. The response from the audience was enthusiastic, with many listeners calling in during the show with questions about Maharishi Ayurveda. One emphasis was the great importance of purity in the physiology to experience perfect health and higher states of consciousness, because impurities create blocks to perfect physiological functioning.
