Maharishi's unparalleled contribution to the field of health - Dr Anand Srivastava: Part III

During the Guru Purnima celebrations of the Global Country of World Peace, held in MERU, Holland, in late July, Dr Anand Srivastava, Chairman and Managing Director of Maharishi Ayurveda Products, described the value of Maharishi Ayur-Veda for creating balance in the different constituents of the body by re-enlivening the body's intelligence. He also spoke about how Maharishi Ayurveda Products has the potential to support all of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's projects for creating Heaven on Earth.

In Maharishi Ayur-Veda, a very holistic definition of health has been given, Dr Srivastava said: Ayur-Veda teaches about balance in the Doshas*, balance in the Dhatus [the tissues], balance in Agni [digestive fire], proper removal of toxins, and bliss at the level of Atma, the Self. 'This is the objective of Maharishi Ayur-Veda,' said Dr Srivastava.

He then pointed out that the medicines of Maharishi Ayur-Veda bring back balance not by inducing some chemicals, but by re-enlivening the intelligence [of the body]. We fall sick due to external forces or diets, pollutions, negativity in the thinking, which puts pressure in the system and we fall sick, he said.

'The intelligence of the organ that is not functioning properly must have got some suppression or stress, and the intelligence of that organ is functioning in a less than desired manner,' Dr Srivastava said. Ayurvedic medicine brings Nature's intelligence into the system and 're-enlivens the intelligence of that organ and helps it function in the desired manner'.

Dr Srivastava then said, 'Our 22 years of journey have been quite adventurous with a lot of lessons. . . . Maharishi has said we have to work together to bring Maharishi Ayur-Veda to mainstream health care. There are those thinking of it as just an alternative system or herbal medicine, etc.

'I would like to invite every person to bring this to the public and at every level. . . What I would like to propose is that we should consider the potential in Maharishi Ayur-Veda—if taken up properly it can support each and every plan of Maharishi's, such as creation of Maharishi Invincibility Schools and colleges and Maharishi Towers of Invincibility. All these can be achieved with Maharishi Ayur-Veda itself. It has that potential.' He laid out a proposed plan for the expansion of Maharishi Ayurveda Products in all parts of the world.

Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace, thanked Dr Srivastava, saying that his 'appreciation rebuilds our passion to help create a disease-free world. This is a great opportunity, while creating a disease-free world, to generate [the means] that could do so much other good, like building the Maharishi Schools, Towers of Invincibility, and supporting the Maharishi Vedic Pandits to take care of the entire world and eliminate all problems before they arise.'
