Raja John Konhaus, Raja of Hamsa (Hungary) for the Global Country of World Peace, reported on his recent visit to the nation and the initiative to create a Maharishi College of Vedic Medicine.

Speaking on the Maharishi Global Family Chat 24 August he described several indications of the project's potential success.

Ideal land on the Danube River has been acquired for the campus. There is an island between the land and the main part of the Danube, 'so all of the boat traffic is all buffered', Raja Konhaus said. 'We have a completely silent and beautiful site there.'

During his visit, Raja Konhaus discussed the project with the local Mayor, as well as those on neighboring land. The Mayor gave his wholehearted support, and the man on neighboring land 'said he was welcoming us like brothers', Raja Konhaus recounted.

The campus will include a Maharishi Ayur-Veda clinic, 'so it'll be a medical college and clinic, which is the perfect blend,' Raja Konhaus continued. There are three Ayur-Vedic doctors that are MDs in the capital city of Budapest, and they all are very enthusiastic about the initiative.

They are also considering that Maharishi University of Management in the United States is actively working to prepare for launching the Maharishi College of Perfect Health, its new medical school. The Maharishi College of Vedic Medicine in Hamsa could potentially offer an American medical degree, which is very attractive to students in Hamsa, and it should be easy to immediately fill the campus, Raja Konhaus said.

In addition, 'all of our graduate doctors will immediately have a huge opportunity to offer Ayur-Veda in the country paid for by the government,' he reported.

Raja Konhaus explained that legislation has already passed—and will come into effect in the coming years—which will require that the national health system support alternative medical systems. One of the alternative systems is Ayur-Veda, which means that anyone in the country would potentially be able to have their Ayurvedic treatments paid for by the federal government.

Global Good News will feature the continuation of Raja Konhaus' talk in the coming days.
