27 December 2008
On 27 December 2008 DailyProgress.com reported:
Meditation in general is gaining increasing acceptance from health care practitioners and insurance companies. Practitioners of Transcendental Meditation in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA describe benefits such as reduced stress, better health, and more clarity and balance in life.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of health.
Daily Progress reported that John McCullough, a practitioner of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Transcendental Meditation for the last 17 years, said he had had insomnia and recurring health problems before learning Transcendental Meditation. After beginning the practice, 'It was like coming out of a desert,' the article quoted him as saying.
Page Latham says the Transcendental Meditation Technique helps her 'balance her family, work and personal life,' Daily Progress reported. It also brings greater clarity of mind, she says.
'I didn't know what to expect,' Daily Progress quoted Latham as saying, 'but it turned out to be a really great tool for living.'
Latham says she especially enjoys meditating as part of a group. She is among approximately 20 people in the Charlottesville area who gather on a regular basis for group practise of Transcendental Meditation along with Transcendental Meditation Teacher Susan Wilbert.
Through this technique, both mind and body gain 'a state of rest, and with the rest, deep-rooted stresses are released,' the article quoted Wilbert as saying.
