Please also see Part I of this article.

What is the difference in training between Maharishi University of Vedic Medicine and other schools offering Ayurveda training?
Ayurveda as practiced now in Europe, India, and the United States has become mostly herbal medicine. It also includes purification techniques called Panchakarma, and dietary recommendations. Maharishi Vedic Medicine offers all of these and much more. It offers the knowledge and experience of the fundamental field of health—the field of consciousness. . . .

Maharishi Vedic Medicine is a truly holistic system of natural health care that brings balance and integration to the individual and society. It is far beyond herbal medicine.

Maharishi University of Vedic Medicine offers in this light a complete university degree programme (Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Maharishi Vedic Medicine).

What are the courses of the Bachelor of Science degree programme?
The courses consist of Maharishi Vedic Medicine courses, modern and contemporary medicine courses, and courses in other natural medical systems, clinical management and business success, and extensive clinical practicum. A central theme of the curriculum is the study of the body's eight major organ systems, all examined in the light of Vedic knowledge. . . .

What is the content of the Master of Science degree programme?
Students will gain expertise in modern medical specialties in light of Ayurveda, such as internal medicine, cardiology, pediatrics and family medicine, psychiatry and neurology, geriatrics and anti-aging medicine. They will also be trained to operate a Maharishi Ayurveda Health Clinic (offering natural purification procedures, or Panchakarma).
