The benefits of the Transcendental Meditation Programme in alleviating symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), especially among young students, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) constitute a rapidly developing area of research that is gaining increasingly wide recognition in the United States.
Dr Robert Roth continued his recent report on growing recognition and implementation of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes for ideal education, health, and business, and total brain development in the US. Please also see Part I of this article.
Dr Roth said that, under the guidance of Dr Sarina Grosswald, leading researcher in the field, new materials are being developed, to be distributed nationwide to educators, administrators, parents, and students on the topic of Transcendental Medtation and ADHD. Already, a publication entitled 'Quiet Time for the Student With ADHD' has been released.
The materials are being developed by the administration of Raja John Hagelin, Raja of Invincible America for the Global Country of World Peace.
The benefits of Transcendental Meditation for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) are also becoming widely recognized and implemented, especially among soldiers having recently returned from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Preliminary data from a pilot study by Dr Grosswald and Dr Norman Rosenthal, an eminent senior researcher in psychiatry and psychobiology at the US National Institute of Mental Health, have revealed that TM leads to dramatic psychological improvements in the lives of those with PTSD who previously suffered extremely high stress levels.
Global Good News will continue to feature Dr Robert Roth's report on growing recognition in the United States of Maharishi's programmes, including rising interest in Transcendental Meditation among young people seeking to develop higher states of consciousness.
