On 16 May 2010, Maharishi University of Vedic Medicine, Switzerland will begin offering online degree courses in Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health, the most complete system of natural health care. Graduates of the Certificate and Bachelor of Science courses will be able to set up their own practice, diagnose disease conditions, and prescribe Ayurvedic herbal medicines as allowed in their countries.

The goal is to provide a complete system of natural health care that is free from side-effects and which develops the full mental, physical, and social potential of the individual as the basis of health for the whole world.

The new offerings fulfil the requirements of AYUSH (the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) of the government of India. BSc and Master of Science graduates would be able to manage a Maharishi Health Centre.

The courses will be offered in a flexible module system so that students can take each module at their convenience. Enrolment will be available from 16 May; students from all over the world may enrol at any time.

The range of courses comprises:
*Self Health Care—one-month modules in subjects such as diet, digestion, and Maharishi Ayurveda self-pulse reading;
*Certificate—to become a health consultant in Maharishi Ayur-Veda, with the emphasis on prevention;
*Bachelor of Science—to become a Practitioner of Maharishi Ayurveda;
*A Master of Science degree and Doctor of Maharishi Vedic Medicine will be offered in the future.

The curricula have been created with input from leading Vaidyas (expert Ayurvedic physicians from India) who will also be involved in teaching and will be available for questions and advice online and during in-residence courses. The courses include foundation subjects such as Ayurvedic pulse-diagnosis; the eight organ systems; approaches of modern medicine such as anatomy, physiology, and pathology; practical experience; and clinic administration.
