Improvements in health care through prevention: Symptom of rising coherence in national consciousness

Concluding his recent report about growing indications of increased coherence in collective consciousness, Dr Peter Swan, Minister of Communication for the Global Country of World Peace, said that society is now waking up to the need for prevention.*

One example Dr Swan cited in the field of health care was a recent report by Reuters London, that 'a ban on smoking in public places in England led to a swift and significant drop in the number of heart attacks, saving the Health Service £8.4 million in the first year, scientists said . . . . ''The message is clear: investment in prevention pays,'' said Bobby Jackson, the Director of the London Health Observatory.'

The Reuters report continued, 'Previous smaller studies in parts of Europe, the United States and Canada also found that smoking bans reduce the rate of heart attacks, but . . . the British study was the largest of its kind, covering a population of 49 million. . . . ''Banning smoking in public places was a bold step and now we have evidence showing that was absolutely right,'' said Betty McBride of the British Heart Foundation charity.'

Dr Swan expressed appreciation for the 'great gift' of all the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The effects of Maharishi's programmes are becoming increasingly apparent in world events, Dr Swan said, as a result of the increasing coherence in collective consciousness brought about by large groups of Yogic Flyers around the world.
