Ireland: Eminent psychiatrist, bestselling author Dr Norman Rosenthal speaking in Dublin today

Norman E. Rosenthal, M.D. is in Dublin today, 11 October, speaking to a large audience at the Clyde Court Hotel, Ballsbridge. The title of Dr Rosenthal's address is: ''Transcendence: Healing and Transformation through Transcendental Meditation''.

Dr Rosenthal is an internationally renowned psychiatrist, medical researcher and best-selling author, who first described Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and pioneered the use of light therapy for its treatment. He is a global leader in the applications of Transcendental Meditation to overcome stress and promote health.

In Dublin he will discuss his books—recently updated and re-released in the UK—Winter Blues: Everything You Need to Know to Beat Seasonal Affective Disorder, and New York Times bestseller Transcendence: Healing and Transformation through Transcendental Meditation.

Currently Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Georgetown University School of Medicine, and for over 20 years researcher at the US National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH), Dr Rosenthal has won multiple awards for his work. Most recently, he has explored the possible therapeutic applications of Transcendental Meditation in the treatment and prevention of bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other stress-related conditions.
