Germany and Switzerland: Women promote programmes for peace, natural health care
Global Mother Divine Organization Translate This Article
27 November 2012
The Transcendental Meditation programme for women has been very active in Germany and Switzerland in the past year. The organization was instrumental in promoting Maharishi Ayur-Veda natural health care, and offered a beautiful series of Gandharva Veda music concerts, as well as short courses in Maharishi Yoga Asanas and higher states of consciousness.
Germany
∙ At a large annual health fair held in Erfurt in March, a Maharishi Ayur-Veda booth drew much attention with exhibits of knowledge and products related to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Vedic Approach to Health—including Maharishi Ayur-Veda herbs and teas, skin care products, and VedAroma oils. Members of the women's organization gave out information on the products, how to learn more about Transcendental Meditation, and also about Maharishi Light Therapy with Gems—one of the many modalities of Maharishi Ayur-Veda health care, designed to bring a high level of orderliness to the physiology, enlivening its innate healing intelligence.
∙ Also early in the year, a 16-lesson course in Maharishi Yoga Asanas was offered in Tübingen. Participants reported gaining a deeper understanding of the importance of yoga asanas (postures) and increased flexibility as a result of taking the course.
∙ In the spring another 16-lesson course, in Higher States of Consciousness, was offered at the national centre in Erfurt. The women who attended reported personal benefits such as an increased understanding of higher states of consciousness which develop naturally through the regular practice of Transcendental Meditation, and deeper rest from practising the technique together daily in a group.
∙ At a recent conference it was announced that the Maharishi Peace Palace in Erfurt, at that time still under construction, would soon be completed.* The national director of the Transcendental Meditation programme for women in Germany is one of the founders of the Peace Palace, which was designed according to Maharishi Vastu architecture, and is the first to be built in Europe. In Maharishi Vastu, the centre of a building, community, or nation is called the Brahmasthan, the silent core of intelligence around which all activity takes place; the Maharishi Peace Palace in Erfurt is near the Brahmasthan of Germany.
Switzerland
∙ Several short courses were offered for women in Switzerland throughout the year. At a Mother's Day course in May, Reshma Shrivastava, an acclaimed sitar player who lives in Cyprus, gave two beautiful Maharishi Gandharva Veda concerts.
∙ Several women have been organizing support to expand the group of Maharishi Vedic Pandits at the Global Capital of World Peace at the Brahmasthan of India; and also for regular Maharishi Yagya** performances by the Pandits on behalf of Switzerland, to create lasting coherence in the nation.
* Construction of the Maharishi Peace Palace in Erfurt was completed and the building inaugurated 24 October 2012. See Global Good News article: Germany: First Maharishi Peace Palace in Europe inaugurated in Erfurt.
** Maharishi Yagyas are precise Vedic performances, conducted by Maharishi Vedic Pandits, to create specific life-supporting influences for individuals and nations.
