On 30 July 2018 CBC News reported: The urban conservation lead with Calgary Parks says the weed-managing goats are back and this time in an urban park overlooking downtown. Chris Manderson of Calgary Parks says there are so many benefits to the project. 'This is a good way to start weed control without relying on herbicides, our established tool for weed control in a lot of areas,' [he said]. The cost of the goat program is comparable to the use of herbicides, but there are many benefits beyond cost, including herbicide-use reduction and resident engagement in the process.
