On 15 February 2019 India Times reported: Lucknow recently saw its first electric bus being flagged off by urban development minister, Suresh Kumar Khanna as a part of a plan of 40 such buses to be run in the city within the next four months. ... Besides these, the plan extends to cover other cities in the state [Uttar Pradesh], including Kanpur, Prayagraj, Ghaziabad, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Saharanpur with the services of these electric buses.
