On 14 January 2024 Only Good News Daily reported: New research provides the good news that Africa's elephant population has stabilized and has actually been gradually growing over the last 25 years. The scientists found that overall, populations had grown by 0.16 percent a year for the past quarter of a century. ''Conservation has halted the decline of elephants in southern Africa over the last 25 years,'' said Professor Stuart Pimm, of Duke University in the US, who was part of the team.
