31 March was the 31st day of the ninth month of Canadian national consciousness rising to invincibility, as indicated by the following press reports:

31 March 2007

Canadian Press - Robust economy defies hurdles (31 March 2007) Canada's economy keeps steaming forward. The growth domestic product eased into January, but coming on the heels of two robust GDP months in November and December, economists viewed any expansion in the first month of the year as a signal the country is headed for another positive year with an economy that continues to generate jobs, corporate profits, and higher salaries. The Royal Bank of Canada noted that the three-month running growth rate clocked in at a respectable 2.4 per cent annualized rate and predicted growth will average 2.5 per cent this year and 3.0 next year. Consumer spending remains the key driver, fueled by a tight labour market, rising incomes, and high levels of disposable income. January's GDP gain builds on the jump in December, which Statistics Canada left unrevised Friday.

The Montreal Gazette - Central Canada poised for growth (31 March 2007) Quebec and Ontario are poised for a rebound in prosperity, predicts Craig Wright, chief economist at the Royal Bank. One driver will be strong manufacturing investment, given an extra boost by tax incentives in the federal budget. 'As long as jobs and incomes hold up'—and they've done so very well—consumers will spend, Wright says. The upshot will be a strengthening growth trend in both Quebec and Ontario, with unemployment remaining low.

Bloomberg News reports (30 March 2007) The TSX Composite Index had a third-straight quarterly advance. A gauge of financial shares, the biggest group by value in the TSX, has risen 2.4 per cent this quarter, contributing most to the benchmark's rise. Signals of rebounding economic growth have led investors and economists to trim bets on an interest-rate reduction

From a Bloomberg News report on the Canadian dollar: Canada's dollar had its biggest monthly gain since August, gaining 1.4 per cent. The currency strengthened to the highest since December. The Canadian dollar also gained as a government report showed the economy expanded for a fourth straight month in January.

The National Post - Quarterly report shows strong start to resale year (31 March 2007) Toronto resale condos are hot. The average price in the first quarter rose 7.2% from the first quarter of 2006. High-increase neighbourhoods include waterfront condos, where a 'standard' condo increased 35.1% from a year ago.

The Ottawa Citizen - Report pushes Ottawa toward socially responsible pension plans (30 March 2007) Canada should revamp everything from its pension plans to its securities regulations, says a groundbreaking joint report by mining and oil industry leaders and environmental and human rights advocates, drafted after a series of national roundtables convened by the federal government. The changes would position Canada as a world leader in the field of socially responsible investment, the report says. The report urges the government to have securities officials require disclosure of environmental, social, and corporate-governance concerns and also asks the government to order all federally regulated pension plans to disclose how these are taken into account by fund managers.

Bloomberg News - Bank of Canada's Dodge calls for OECD-like forum to focus on the Americas (29 March 2007) The Americas need an organization like the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development, where countries can meet and exchange ideas, Bank of Canada Governor David Dodge said. Dodge's proposed organization would focus on promoting sound monetary, financial, and fiscal policies. For their part, the US and Canada should show they can live by the rules they advocate and open their markets to Latin American countries, he said.

Canadian Press - Scientists discover new lichen in BC's rainforest (29 March 2007) Scientists have discovered 13 previously unknown species of tree-dwelling lichens in British Columbia's rainforest. Lichens are leafy organisms that grow on trees and rocks, that endangered species such as the mountain caribou depend on in winter. Toby Spribille, currently based at the University of Gottingen in Germany, and two researchers from BC made the discovery. 'We are definitely looking at a major centre of lichen diversity at a global level that we haven't even begun to fathom or explain,' Spribille said. The team found that the rainforests are home to some of the world's richest tree-dwelling lichen floras.

These are a few of the news reports reflecting Canada's rising invincibility from the growing Yogic Flying groups across Canada and the Invincible America Assembly at Maharishi University of Management and Maharishi Vedic City, USA.
