Addressing a recent global press conference on Unified Field-based Architecture, Dr Eike Hartmann, Minister of Global Reconstruction of the Global Country of World Peace, discussed how Vedic Architecture can provide a basis for individual and national health, prosperity, and invincibility.

Dr Hartmann explained that when a nation utilizes Maharishi Vedic Architecture and city planning in accord with Natural Law, governments will find the whole character of national life rising in better health, peace, and harmony. Free from problems, governments will achieve a new level of efficiency.

Fundamental principles of orientation, symmetry, and balance in Maharishi Sthapatya Veda provide a blueprint for construction of Peace Colonies and ideal cities, and the restructuring of entire countries.

According to the main textbook of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, Manasara Vastu Shastra, the nation's capital should be located in the centre of the country alongside an auspicious river or lake. This central point of wholeness where the totality of Natural Law is most lively, is called the Brahmasthan of the country.

Every city in the nation, as well as every home and building, should be designed with a central Brahmasthan, thereby establishing the connection between the individual structure and the structure of the entire cosmos. In this way, the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda are represented in brick and stone, and become instrumental in maintaining a lively link between individual and cosmic life.

People do not know that misfortunes arise from lack of proper orientation of the buildings where they live and work; they suffer, not knowing the design of their homes to be a cause. A great deal of negativity and ill health prevails in families, communities, national and international life due to improper orientation of buildings. In this scientific age, when the knowledge of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda is readily available, there is no reason to repeat the building mistakes of the past.

Maharishi Sthapaya Veda is the only knowledge available in the world which reveals the effect of orientation of buildings on human life. It teaches that only buildings oriented to the East and North are auspicious. Astanga Sangraha, a text of Vedic literature, says that one should not even live one day in a building that is not constructed according to the principles of Vastu Vidya as taught by Maharishi Sthapatya Veda.

The knowledge of Vedic Architecture and city planning is part of the curriculum of Maharishi Central University which is being built in the Brahmasthan of the United States.

Scientific studies demonstrate the influence of the rising sun on the human brain. A study in the Journal of Affective Disorders reports that when comparing inpatients assigned to rooms with eastern or western windows, those exposed to eastern light had a 3.67-day shorter stay in hospital than patients in western rooms. A study published in the Journal of Social Behavior and Personality which looked into the effects of orientation of houses, found that there were 75 per cent more burglaries in homes with South entrances, compared to homes with North, East, or West entrances.

Maharaja Naader Raam, first ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, in his studies correlating Veda and physiology, found that Sthapatya Veda corresponds to human anatomy. He found that the human brain is highly sensitive to orientation, position, and direction in space, and that the orientation of every cell, organ, and organ system influences the functioning of the entire physiology.

According to recent research in neuroscience, the firing patterns of the neurons in the thalamus of the brain are altered by the direction one is facing. When the individual faces East, the neurons in his brain assume a different firing pattern than when he faces North, South, or West. Hence, the coherence and power of thoughts as well as the healthy functioning of the entire physiology is influenced by the direction the individual is facing.

According to Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, homes should be designed so that the specific activities undertaken in each room will derive maximum benefit from the different energies of the sun at different times of day. Every aspect of daily living in such homes thereby gains the support of Natural Law.

The human intellect can never comprehend the enormous complexity of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, which takes into consideration everything in the universe with reference to individual physiology. Every individual, without being required to understand all the principles of this aspect of Vedic Science, can live in a home designed in such a way that he will gain maximum benefit from these principles for greater well-being in every area of his life.
