Dr Travis gives presentations in Switzerland and Turkey

Faculty continue to go abroad with the message of the many benefits of the Transcendental Meditation technique, with Dr. Fred Travis recently traveling in Turkey and Switzerland and attracting large audiences at major universities.

For each venue organizers sent out conference brochures to scientists, educators, human resource managers, CEOs, and wealthy individuals.

An audience of about 85 people, mainly scientists and students, attended Dr. Travis's presentation at the prestigious ETH Zürich, the technical university of Zürich. The ETH was founded in 1855 and is one of the most prominent universities of Europe with its emphasis on technical and science disciplines. It is an internationally acclaimed institution of higher education with an excellent reputation in research—and a connection with 21 Nobel prize winners.

In his presentations, Dr. Travis introduced the idea of a ground state of consciousness, putting it in the context of quantum field theory. He explained how this underlying field of consciousness can be contacted via the Transcendental Meditation technique. In this context he discussed topics such as Transcendental Consciousness, the relation of brain to experience, how experience of the ground state of consciousness can change the brain, and the research on subjects experiencing Cosmic Consciousness.

During the presentations, Dr. Travis's daughter Dariana was present to participate in a demonstration of EEG coherence during practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique.

He also introduced the Maharishi Effect—how accessing this field of complete balance and life-nourishing values can have an effect on the consciousness of others.

Other venues, which attracted scientists from neuroscience and psychology departments, included the University of Basel, the University of Bern, and prestigious hotels in Lausanne and Bern.

Dr. Travis also gave presentations and a press conference during a week spent in Istanbul.
