MAHARISHI REBUKES THE MILITARY:

'Sending the Youth to Die in Battle for the Country Is an Ignorant Approach to National Security— and a Black Spot on Civilization'

Invites the World to Witness the Imminent Success of His Global Programme to Raise 55 Nations to Invincibility

His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi this week delivered a sharp rebuke to the military of every country, calling the prevailing strategy of sending the nation's youth into battle to die for the country 'an ignorant and failed approach to national security and a black spot on civilization'.

At the same time, Maharishi invited the world to witness the imminent success of the programmes of the Global Financial Capital of New York to raise 55 nations to invincibility through the science and technology of the Unified Field, and thereby transform the world within a few months from poverty and conflict to affluence and peace.

'The world has been in the grip of the deep darkness of the night. But now is the time for the light. Whether you believe it or not, we invite everyone to witness the coming dawn,' Maharishi said.

Fourth Global Conference on Invincible Defence

Maharishi's proclamations highlighted the 'Fourth Global Conference on Invincible Defence,' which was held on 21 June at the Global Financial Capital of New York, 70 Broad Street—one block from the New York Stock Exchange. Maharishi spoke via satellite and Internet webcast from the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland.

Conference speakers included Dr John Hagelin, Executive Director of the International Center for Invincible Defence and Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country of World Peace; Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace; and Dr Paul Potter, the Raja (Administrator) of New York. 'God has made man in his own image to live long in immortality'

Until now, Maharishi said, military power has been measured by the number of young people ready to sacrifice their lives for the nation as an act of bravery and patriotism. 'This is a very wrong, very pitiable understanding about life, about man, about God,' Maharishi said. 'Every religion declares that God has made man in His own image. But God has made man in His own image to live long in immortality, not to die young on the battlefield.'

A group of experts is being established in every country  to create coherent collective consciousness—the basis of national invincibility

Maharishi's programme to raise 55 nations to invincibility includes establishing in each country a group of a few hundred to a few thousand experts in the science and technology of the Unified Field—the unified, invincible source of the infinite diversity of the universe. (The number of experts depends upon the population of the country.)

'Through their collective practice of Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying, these groups are enlivening the Unified Field and creating an indomitable influence of coherence in collective consciousness—the basis of a prosperous, integrated, invincible nation,' Maharishi said.

Extensive published scientific research has found that group practice of Yogic Flying by as few as the square root of one per cent of a nation's population is sufficient to reduce negative trends, such as crime and warfare, and strengthen positive economic and social trends throughout the entire nation.

Maharishi said dates are now being set when each of the 55 nations will achieve invincibility.

Blossoming of coherent collective consciousness will bring victory before war

With the rise of coherence in collective consciousness, Maharishi said, the military will assume an exalted new role in the country: creating coherence in national consciousness. 'The blossoming of coherent national consciousness will eliminate the enmity within the enemy and bring victory before war,' Maharishi said. 'It is time for the military to live long in the will of God—and to let others live long in the will of God, too.'
