Japan enjoys nationwide Guru Purnima celebrations

Nationwide celebrations of Guru Purnima were enjoyed in ten of Japan's 47 Prefectures with representatives of the Global Country of World Peace leading the proceedings, accompanied by teachers and practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation Technique.

Japan has been honoured by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace, as the 'Land of the Rising Sun', and in recent weeks Maharishi conducted a teleconference from MERU Holland, with ten newly-trained teachers of Transcendental Meditation. Plans were made for hospitals, Invincibility Schools, and Towers of Invincibility in many areas of the country, all to be built according to Maharishi Sthapatya Veda. Prospective land has been located in several Prefectures, including Tokyo, Chiba, Saitama, Kanagawa, Osaka, Hiroshima, Aichi, Fukuoka, and near the existing site of the National Academy of Transcendental Meditation in Tochiqui. During the nationwide Guru Purnima celebrations, ground-breaking and foundation stone ceremonies were conducted at some of these sites. The proceedings were synchronized in all the Prefectures, where the Japanese flag was raised along with the flag of the Global Country of World Peace.

Participants then joined the global celebrations of Guru Purnima which were broadcast via satellite from MERU, Holland. Reporting on the event, Dr Shizuo Suzuki, Minister of Expansion for the Global Country of World Peace, said that everyone attending regarded it as a step of great historical significance for their country. He expressed their collective determination to build facilities for 1,200 Yogic Flyers to crown their nation with invincibility.
