Nigeria establishes first Maharishi Peace Palace, promotes programmes for ladies through Global Mother Divine Organization

The National Director of Nigeria for the Global Country of World Peace reported on her nation to the global Guru Purnima Celebration of the Global Country of World Peace, which was held in MERU, Holland, from 18-24 July 2008.

The National Director announced that they now have a Maharishi Peace Palace in Nigeria 'from where we can carry out activities to give my fellow Nigerians experience of Maharishi's knowledge. From my very first month I started Transcendental Meditation in 1979, it became my great desire to give my people the opportunity to experience the wonderful benefits that come with this practice,' she said.

Two professors at an agricultural college in Nigeria, who are both enthusiastic long-time practitioners of Transcendental Meditation, are helping to establishing Consciousness-Based Education in the country.

The new Maharishi Peace Palace will be the first and only centre for Transcendental Meditation in Nigeria so far. The legal registration for the organization is almost completed, and they are in the process of preparing their own website.

The National Director's presentation was made during a session in which leaders of the Global Mother Divine Organization*, the ladies' wing of the Global Country of World Peace, from around the world reported on activities and achievements in the past year that are bringing perfect health, happiness, and enlightenment to ladies, mothers, and children in their countries.

The National Director expressed her hope that ladies and mothers will become members of the Global Mother Divine Organization, because they hold very a important position in society. 'This will enhance their motherly nourishing nature, which will in turn bring immense Nature support and blessings to our children throughout the country. They will find their nurturing activities more rewarding, more fruitful.

'We are concentrating on a drive to introduce Transcendental Meditation to a wide audience in Nigeria and above all to introduce the knowledge to schools and universities. . . . and to make as many presentations as possible to a large number of people so that they can become partakers of the blessings that Maharishi has offered to the world.'

* The goal of the Global Mother Divine Organization is to develop the all-nourishing quality in every lady, every mother, in the world family to create healthy, happy, heavenly homes in every country. To achieve this, the Global Mother Divine Organization is being established in 192 countries of the world to offer programmes through its Foundations in five areas of knowledge: Development of Consciousness and Total Knowledge Based Education, Health Care, Culture, and Music.
