Mother Divine Programme celebrates 27th Anniversary - History of the Mother Divine Programme

During the grand global celebration of the Mother Divine Programme's 27th Anniversary, the Raj Rajeshwaris of the Global Country of World Peace—Mothers of the World from the Sovereign Domain of Consciousness—gave many inspiring presentations.

Speaking on this occasion on 31 August 2008, which was broadcast around the world via satellite and Internet on Channel 3 of the Maharishi Channel, one Raj Rajeshwari beautifully spoke about the history of the Mother Divine Programme.

'On the evening of the 31^st of August, 27 years ago in Seelisberg, Switzerland, Maharishi inaugurated the Mother Divine Programme with members of the Ladies World Government of the Age of Enlightenment. Quickly, a whisper went around the globe about the incredibly precious opportunity to come to the mountaintops of Switzerland for a programme of researching deeply into one's own consciousness and becoming a master of the field of all possibilities.

'Since 1975, when Maharishi held the first six-month Age of Enlightenment Governor Training Courses*, there had been the opportunity to spend several months at a time fathoming the beautiful experiences revealed under Maharishi's guidance. It was the desire of many of these course participants to go even deeper—to spend all their time in ''research in consciousness''—that inspired Maharishi to bring out the Mother Divine Programme—and, a few months later, the Purusha Programme**, in 1981.

'That first group in Switzerland was followed a few months later by a second group of Mother Divine in Washington, DC, living just five blocks from the White House and creating a powerful influence of coherence—a soft cushion of support—for the government of the United States.

'The beautiful experiences of these first groups of Mother Divine, as they spent all their time exploring the fine fabrics of consciousness, even while traveling around the globe—to create coherence at the First Taste of Utopia Assembly [of Yogic Flyers] at MIU***, in the Philippines, in the Hague, again in Washington, DC, and in India—inspired Maharishi to reflect at the time of Guru Purnima in 1987:

''A very ideal programme, Purusha and Mother Divine, has been developed for those who are free to devote time to it. I would like to have a Thousand-headed Purusha and a Thousand-headed Mother Divine. All those in the world who have time must get onto this programme and enjoy that bliss which is the destiny of the angels in Heaven.

''Twenty-four hour bliss programme—nothing is more important than that. There is no more precious experience than enjoying bliss, thrills of bliss in the physiology, thrills of bliss in the environment, everywhere. It is a wonderful programme for the individual to harness the full creative potential of Natural Law and use it to enjoy bliss.

''World peace is a by-product of it, heavenly life on earth is a by-product of it. . . . what we need is to perpetuate this programme and have a Thousand-headed Purusha and a Thousand-headed Mother Divine permanently established on earth. Their breath in bliss, their physiology reverberating in bliss, their talks and intentions reverberating in bliss will purify world consciousness time and time again so that every generation will maintain bliss in life and will enjoy Heaven on Earth.'''

* Extended courses for Teachers of the Transcendental Meditation Programme to learn the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme and become 'Governors of the trends of time'. The opportunity to learn this programme was later extended to practitioners of Transcendental Meditation around the world through Maharishi Invincibility Centres in their home countries.

** Maharishi has explained that Purusha means the Self, the quality of infinite silence of the Unified Field of Natural Law. Maharishi designed the Maharishi Purusha Programme for men who wish to dedicate themselves fulltime to the most rapid pace of evolution possible and creating world peace. This is accomplished through the extended group practice of the Transcendental Meditation-Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying—the foundation of their administration through silence, fulfilling the goals of the Global Country of World Peace in 192 countries of the world.
