A tribute to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi: Stages of transformation towards invincibility for South Africa

In a special presentation on Global Family Chat, on 15 November, leaders of the Global Country of World Peace in South Africa paid tribute to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi for raising their nation to invincibility.

Please see Part I of this article. To illustrate the progressive transformations in South Africa as a result of Maharishi's coherence-creating programmes, Dr Richard Peycke, National Director of the Global Country of World Peace, gave highlights of various major events over many years. These highlights included:

1977 - Teaching of the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme including Yogic Flying;

1979 - 1982 - Establishment of communities of Yogic Flyers practising together twice daily, including a community in Soweto where the crime rate dropped dramatically as a result of the group practice;

1985 - 1987 - 10,000 students learn Transcendental Meditation;

1988 - 1989 - Maharishi's global peace project brought an end to superpower rivalry, which ended a threat to South Africa from a neighbouring country;

1991 and 1993 - Maharishi's programmes helped calm tensions in the region and brought peace to Mozambique through the creation of Yogic Flyers in their military. The influence of greater harmony in neighbouring countries helped South Africa's political transformation, which eventually brought an end to the apartheid era and brought South Africa back into the family of nations for the first time in many decades. A drought gripping Africa subsided, bringing relief to thousands, and resulting in an upturn in the economy of many nations in the region;

1996 - 1999 - 9000 students learned Transcendental Meditation in and around Johannesburg, resulting in a reduction in crime and bringing new hope for a better life to a poverty-ridden area;

1999 - Maharishi Open University of Johannesburg started with 400 students practising Transcendental Meditation and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi programme together twice daily;

2003 - 400 newly trained Yogic Flyers brought an upsurge of coherence for the whole country;

2006 - Land at the Brahma-Sthan (auspicious geographical centre) of the country was secured;

2007 - Maharishi Invincibility Institute was established as the basis of permanent invincibility for South Africa;

2007 - Declaration of Invincibility in South Africa as part of Maharishi's global programme to bring Invincibility to Every Nation.

Dr Peycke said that the achievements in his country were just a tiny drop in the ocean of Maharishi's unlimited achievements for world peace. He concluded his presentation by expressing deep gratitude to Maharishi for the gifts of pure knowledge and enlightenment, and extended thanks from all the future generations of Yogic Flyers who will ensure perpetual invincibility for South Africa.

Dr Peycke's talk was accompanied with colourful slides illustrating projects currently underway. Among the photos displayed were three beautiful Invincibility Centres in Capetown, Johannesburg, and Durban, each built according to principles of Maharishi Vedic Architecture .
