Commemorating the Global Memorial for His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, 7 February 2008, MERU, Holland

One year ago, on 7 February 2008, a Global Memorial to His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was held in honour of 50 years of his global achievements in creating enlightenment for every individual and invincibility for every nation through the supreme knowledge of his Vedic Science.

Leaders of the Global Country of World Peace in MERU, Holland, honoured Maharishi with many Tributes, and excerpts from a beautiful recent address by Maharishi were played for members of the press and guests.

In that address Maharishi said, '. . . . That ''within'' is the secret word—the [mind] turned within. It's a turnkey operation. You think and think from within.

'Think from Transcendental Consciousness*, which is the field of the Unified Field in modern terms, the field of Yoga in the ancient terminology of the field of Veda.

'From today, the flag of Raam Raj** in every country will influence successful operation of every government. No matter what is the constitution of any country, [with] the Constitution of the Universe—by the inner thinking of some people in every country practising Transcendental Meditation, its advanced techniques, and Yogic Flying—the programme is reversed. That is why we have a natural desire—duty bound—to play our parental role for the well-being and happiness of every individual in our world family, and every nation in our family of nations.

'Today in that spirit of eternal freedom, invincibility, integration, all positivity on the level of national intelligence, we are opening the gates of all peace, prosperity, self-sufficiency, freedom, and invincibility of every nation in the world.

'It is our great pride to express that the inner of everyone which is always in action—inner of everyone—mind, intellect, ego, self-referral Atma—the inner of everyone, is bliss in nature. And we have the technique [for] that ''Bliss to become blissful through practice''.

'So today is the today. As has been many days in the past months, past years, we have been wanting to raise the flag of the kingdom of Raja Raam in every country, but now after all these 50 years in the world, desiring for this day, we found this day has come to us.

'And today having done Puja [Vedic ceremony of gratitude] to Guru Dev,*** we say to Guru Dev that, ''Your Grace, your blessings, your confidence in us, we are offering to your Lotus Feet, and from there we are desiring invincibility to every nation and permanent peace on earth.'' '

* Maharishi has explained that beyond the familiar states of waking, dreaming, and sleeping are four higher states of consciousness—Transcendental Consciousness, Cosmic Consciousness, God Consciousness, and Unity Consciousness—each bringing a new dimension of experience, knowledge, and fulfilment.

** Raam Raj: The rule of total Natural Law, Heaven on Earth—'all good to everyone and non-good to no one'.
