The historic achievement of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace, in restoring the tradition of Vedic Recitation by Vedic Pandits in India was profoundly appreciated during the recent visit to India of a delegation led by Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace. The delegation went to India in honour of Vedic ceremonies commemorating the anniversary of Maharishi's Mahasamadhi in 2008.

Experiencing the performances of the Maharishi Vedic Pandits during the commemoration ceremonies in India was 'a very powerful, moving and enlightening experience', said Raja Paul Potter, Raja of Canada for the Global Country of World Peace, in describing this visit.

The delegation was welcomed by Raja Harris Kaplan, Raja of Invincible India, Dr Girish Varma*, Dr Prakash Srivastava and Dr Anand Srivastava**, who also hosted their tour of other parts of India.

Following the ceremonies honouring Maharishi, the delegation had the opportunity to visit some of the many Maharishi Vidya Mandirs, Maharishi Schools, around India. They were deeply impressed by how widely known, appreciated, and revered Maharishi is throughout India and what a profound influence he has had on the nation over the past half-century of his worldwide activities teaching his Vedic Science and Technologies of Consciousness, including the Transcendental Meditation Programme.

Raja Paul recalled Maharishi saying many years ago that it was only due to the loss of the tradition of Vedic Recitation by the Vedic Pandits that India became so vulnerable to outside influences.

'Seeing now the Vedic Pandits, trained by Maharishi, performing their Vedic Recitations, it really became so clear,' said Raja Paul, 'that Maharishi has now really restored that tradition and done the one thing that was necessary to awaken in India its own cultural heritage of enlightened Vedic civilization to bless the whole world.'

Global Good news will feature further articles about the delegation's visit to India in the coming days.
