The Land of the Veda inspires Global Country of World Peace delegation commemorating His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

Inspiring experiences in India, the Land of the eternal Vedic Tradition of knowledge, were the subject of a recent presentation by Raja Paul Potter, Raja of Canada for the Global Country of World Peace. Raja Paul described the visit of a delegation led by Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, First Ruler* of the Global Country of World Peace, including many Rajas and Ministers, to India last month for ceremonies commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Mahasamadhi of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

Raja Paul showed slides of the flower-decked Samadhi Sthal where the ceremonies were held, at Maharishi Ashram in the auspicious city of Prayag, overlooking the Sangam, or meeting point, of the three holy rivers, Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. A beautiful Vedic building will be constructed there in honour of Maharishi.

Prayag is the winter seat of the Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math, where Maharishi spent many years in the service of Guru Dev**, his spiritual teacher. The ceremonies for Maharishi were organized under the patronage of the present Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math, Shankaracharya Vasudevananda Saraswati Maharaj.

Following the ceremonies the group had an audience with the Shankaracharya at his camp at the Mela, the spiritual festival attended by millions of people, at the site of the Sangam.

'This experience was like entering a Vedic time,' Raja Paul said. The delegation performed Puja [Vedic ceremony of gratitude] to Guru Dev with the Shankaracharya. After this they all went down to the banks of the holy Ganges, where the Vedic Pandits were performing Aarti, ceremonies of light, along with Vedic Recitation. They all sat on boats floating silently in the darkness, enjoying the blessings of the Ganges, said Raja Paul.
