Maharishi's vision for the world continuing to blossom through Vedic Pandits of India

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's profound attention to reviving the authentic tradition of Vedic Pandits of India, and establishing groups of Vedic Pandits to create an indomitable influence of harmony and invincibility for the world, is continuing to blossom.

Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace, recently spent three months travelling in India. A young member of the Maharishi Purusha Programme* and a Purusha Raja (Administrator) of the Global Country accompanied him.

Recounting highlights of his visit, Dr Morris described time spent with Vedic Pandits of all ages, dedicated to their role as peace-creating experts.

'We were impressed everywhere we went by the sincerity of the Vedic Pandits, Dr Morris said.

He described a visit to a group of about 60 Vedic Pandits in one of India's ancient and holy cities. It was twilight, and the Pandits were so absorbed in their evening Vedic performance that they continued without a stir when Dr Morris and the others entered along with their hosts. 'It was a very moving thing to see,' he said.

They also visited a partially-completed Maharishi Sthapatya Veda house in the city. Fifteen houses in the area are to be replaced with Fortune-Creating homes. Eleven have already been torn down, Dr Morris said, and the new homes will be completed as finances allow.

In another location, they had the opportunity to hear Vedic Pandits practising recitations—repeating them over and over so that they know them by heart. It was a joy to be in their presence, he commented.

Dr Morris expressed their delight in the house, and their wish that these young Vedic Pandits could enjoy this beautiful ideal home.

Another highlight was a visit to a remote temple, revived by Maharishi. The Vedic Pandits at the temple were very elderly, Dr Morris said. They had taken up farming or other trades, and Maharishi had offered them the opportunity to be retrained as Vedic Pandits. These elderly gentleman were so happy and proud to be performing Vedic recitations, Dr Morris said.

'I just felt so touched again by what Maharishi had done—everywhere he was doing this kind of thing—so beautiful,' Dr Morris said, 'protecting all the temples, reviving all the Vedic Pandits . . . .'
