The Global Country of World Peace in Sweden recently held two successful Residence Courses for practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation.

Residence courses (called 'World Peace Assemblies' for practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme) are one feature of a wide array of advanced programmes available for those practising Transcendental Meditation, giving an opportunity to spend a weekend gaining deep, revitalizing rest while enjoying profound knowledge in a beautiful, settled atmosphere. Courses include extended practice of Transcendental Meditation, neuromuscular and neurorespiratory programmes of Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health), group meditations and discussions of experiences with Transcendental Meditation; and video presentations by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi on the practice of Transcendental Meditation and higher states of consciousness.

This unique experience of deep silence over a weekend results in a profound reduction of accumulated stress and tension and forms the basis for the maintenance of unbounded awareness, inner happiness, and support of Natural Law in all aspects of daily life. Participants often report that just one weekend of deep rest offers a revitalization enjoyed for months.

Another great value of residence courses is that group practise of Transcendental Meditation and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme creates a powerful influence of coherence and harmony in the whole environment—so every course contributes significantly to the rising invincibility of the nation.

The first of the recent residence courses in Sweden was held over Easter weekend in the province of Scania. It was attended by 58 participants—the largest number ever to attend a course in the southernmost parts of Sweden, where the province is located, said Raja Bruce Plaut, Raja of Invincible Sweden for the Global Country of World Peace.

'The course was extremely blissful for all those participating,' commented Raja Plaut. 'There was a dominant feeling of fullness throughout the whole long weekend.' He expressed his appreciation towards one of Sweden's most active Transcendental Meditation Teachers, who was a principal organizer of the event.

Following the course, many stayed on in Scania to attend a meeting held by Raja Plaut, during which plans were discussed for bringing about invincibility for the nation.

In early May, another Residence Course was held in Helsingborg, Sweden, attended by nine teachers and administrators of an after-school programme in the city. The company that runs the programme provided financial support for the instruction of their employees in Transcendental Meditation, in hopes of promoting a more peaceful atmosphere within the after-school setting. 'This programme has long experienced violence and other tensions among students,' commented Raja Plaut, 'and there is great hope that Transcendental Meditation will help alleviate these problems.' He added that the course was the first to be offered in a corporate setting in Sweden.
