Third IamU Conference: Invitation to youth around the world to celebrate Guru Purnima in MERU, Holland

Yogic Flyers, and practitioners and Teachers of the Transcendental Meditation Programme are warmly invited to attend the Guru Purnima* Assemblies in MERU, Holland which are to be held 5-8 July. Leaders of the youth initiative IamU** ('I am Universal') extended an additional invitation to young people around the world to celebrate together at MERU and discuss ideas and projects.

Speaking at the third IamU conference*** held in June in MERU, Lila-Maria Hartmann, an international administrator of IamU, asked young Meditators, Yogic Flyers, and Transcendental Meditation Teachers who will be attending Guru Purnima, to let IamU know that they are coming so all the young people can meet together and share their thoughts. 'Please send us an email . . . at IamU@Maharishi.net', she said.

'None of us would be where we are today or as successful as we are today without that gift that we have received of connecting back to our Self—and all that infinite knowledge for so many areas of life . . . so many areas of applied knowledge. There is so much that we have received from Maharishi, and we can't even begin to imagine how the world would be if he hadn't walked this earth . . . So why not come and join us all, and let's celebrate together Guru Purnima on the 7th of July,' she said.

Dr Gareth Wallace, another global leader of IamU and Teacher of Transcendental Meditation, also talked about his deep appreciation of Guru Purnima and the eternal Vedic Tradition of knowledge that it celebrates.

He expressed his appreciation for the Guru Purnima celebrations he's attended over the years. He said he first came to MERU in 1995 and it was 'such a sweet experience to be in the presence of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi'. He also recounted that there was a group of young people from Germany who attended that year, and how much fun it was to enjoy 'the bliss of that youthful group'. He warmly invited young people 'to come for Guru Purnima and enjoy with all of us'.

Asher Fergusson, young member of the Maharishi Purusha Programme**** and another international administrator of IamU, added that young people not travelling to MERU, could enjoy local celebrations at Maharishi Invincibility Centres in their areas.

Asher encouraged young people in every country to stay connected throughout the year. In addition to the global IamU page on Facebook^®, local groups have enjoyed creating their own pages to stay connected with youth in their areas.

* The annual grand global celebration of Guru Purnima—celebrating the eternal Vedic Tradition of knowledge. The full moon day of Guru Purnima will be celebrated in a global broadcast on 7 July.
