Support for Maharishi's programmes growing in Holland, countries around the world

Support for the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is rising in Holland and in countries around the world.

In addition to initial approvals received this week for the Maharishi Tower of Invincibility in Holland,* Dr Gerard Rieter and Dr Ger Lieve, head of the Maharishi Vedic Architecture development company, 'Fortuinlijk Wonen' (Fortunate Living), reported on support for other initiatives as well.**

A beautiful piece of land was brought to their attention, Dr Lieve said, with the assistance of an official who was very supportive of the Tower of Invincibility. The land is ideal according to the principles of Maharishi Vedic Architecture, and potentially 40 Maharishi Sthapatya Veda houses could be built there, he added. Dr Lieve expressed appreciation for this new level of support from the municipality.

In addition, 'the government is now subsidizing the infrastructure for meditation tourism', said Dr Rieter. MERU, Holland, home of the International Capital of the Global Country of World Peace, is one of thirty spiritual locations and organizations that will be featured on a new government website. Each organization will have the opportunity to present their programmes and news on the site. 'This is very promising that people [will] come to us now,' Dr Reiter said. 'The government is subsidizing the channels for bringing the knowledge for enlightenment to all our citizens, and through them to the world.'

Commenting on this new development, Dr Peter Swan, Minister of Communication for the Global Country of World Peace, said that this new attitude of local officials and leaders of society is a theme seen throughout the world right now.

In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for example, thousands of students are practising the Transcendental Meditation Programme, and officials want it to be offered in all secondary schools citywide. In Germany, local authorities are welcoming and promoting a Tower of Invincibility in their city.

Positive trends are rising everywhere through the powerful influence of harmony and coherence generated by large groups of Yogic Flyers all over the world, Dr Swan concluded.
