Life in enlightenment: Maharishi's gift to everyone

Presenting the profound knowledge of development of consciousness* brought to light by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace, the recent Full Moon celebration of the Global Mother Divine Organization* featured the video of a historic address given by Maharishi in 1971. The global celebration webcast was held 28 February.

In his address, Maharishi quoted a verse from the Upanishads: Purnam adah purnam idam—'That [unmanifest] is full, and this [manifest] is full.' Life in two fullnesses is life in fullness, life in enlightenment, he said.

Following Maharishi's address, the Raj Rajeshwari** introducing the celebration commented that life in enlightement is Maharishi's gift to everyone. 'From the moment that one starts Transcendental Meditation,' she said, 'one is set on a royal path to enlightenment. With regular practice of the programme the growth of perception, the growth of higher states of consciousness* is natural and spontaneous.'

She explained that this growth is further enhanced and accelerated by the practice of Advanced Techniques and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying. 'All these simple, effortless technologies of consciousness—given by Guru Dev*** to Maharishi, and by Maharishi to all of us—revive the basis for spontaneously living life in enlightenment, life in fullness,' she concluded.

** Maharishi explains that beyond the familiar states of waking, dreaming, and sleeping are four higher states of consciousness—Transcendental Consciousness, Cosmic Consciousness, God Consciousness, and Unity Consciousness—each bringing a new dimension of physiological functioning, experience, knowledge, and fulfillment.

** Raj Rajeshwaris—Mothers of the World from the Sovereign Domain of Consciousness—are the Administrators of the Global Mother Divine Organization (GMDO). There are 29 Raj Rajeshwaris, long-time leaders of the Global Country of World Peace, each responsible for administering several countries through the GMDO National Directors.
