In the second part of a July tour of Canada, leaders including Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace, visited major cities where Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes are blossoming.

In a recent report,* Dr Morris commented that the tour was very inspiring and 'encouraging to the future of the whole Canadian nation'. Cities he and the delegation visited included Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Salt Spring Island, Niagara Falls, Toronto, and Montreal.

The Prime Minister expressed his great satisfaction in the success of a number of current school projects. Several schools in the nation are hiring Teachers of the Transcendental Meditation Programme to instruct the technique full-time, as well as to establish TM Centres in the schools themselves, he said. 'We saw the same magical results everywhere Consciousness-Based Education programmes have begun—students are being transformed in the direction of alertness, radiance, and peacefulness and harmony with others.'

Dr Morris went on to note that First Nations schools in Vancouver and New Brunswick will begin introducing Transcendental Meditation extensively in the coming school year.

In Vancouver, Dr Morris met with two young Transcendental Meditation Teachers who are re-enlivening Maharishi's programmes in the area.

On Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Dr Morris visited a new Vastu development which is being designed and constructed according to principles of Vedic Architecture, and which has already been sold out. He remarked that he envisions the island as a future centre for group practice of Yogic Flying, since many Canadian members of the Global Country of World Peace are planning to move there soon. 'The growing community on Salt Spring Island, combined with Yogic Flying groups in Vancouver schools, will make Western Canada an incredibly enlightened part of the world,' he said.

The delegation also visited land near Niagara Falls where there are plans for construction of a Maharishi Tower of Invincibility, along with a community including Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture, a Maharishi Spa, Maharishi Invincibility Schools, and more. 'We have great hope for what will happen on this land,' said Dr Morris. 'With 14 million tourists visiting the Falls each year, there are sure to be many interested in touring the Maharishi Tower and neighbouring buildings.'

Dr Morris concluded by reporting on fruitful meetings with TM Teachers in Toronto and Montreal, with extensive planning for Maharishi's programmes for the whole of eastern Canada.

* Dr Morris's report was featured on the 17 July 2010 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
