Mother Tongue - Maintaining the connection of culture and Natural Law: Global Mother Divine Organization Congress

On 20 July—Day 2 of the Global Mother Divine Organization's* Third International Congress in MERU, Holland—delegates from around the world enjoyed two rich presentations on Total Knowledge Based Culture.

The first was an in-depth consideration of the significance of Mother Tongue, the traditional language of each culture. This was followed by a presentation by GMDO leaders in the United States, about the recent inauguration of the Global Alliance of the Revered Indigenous Mothers of the Global Mother Divine Organization.

The second day's programmes were coordinated and hosted by Dr Ann Crowell, of the Global Ministry of Religion and Culture for the Global Country of World Peace, who also gave a presentation on Mother Tongue.

The session began with a demonstration of the Language of Nature, the source of all Mother Tongues, through the blessings of live Vedic Recitation by Maharishi Vedic Pandits.

Dr Crowell began her presentation with a definition of Mother Tongue: the traditional language of each culture that allows the people living within a localized region to maintain their unique identities, and to uphold the vitality of their culture in alignment with the wholeness of Nature. 'It's the Natural Law that flows in the Mother Tongue,' she said.

She went on to explain that Mother Tongue maintains the connection of culture and Natural Law; and allows thought and action to be the perfect expression of the fine impulses of universal intelligence that are at the basis of the knowledge and behaviour of the local culture.

Each traditional language is intimately related to every member of a cultural group, Dr Crowell explained, because language is structured and upheld by the same local Laws of Nature that structure the physiology of the individual.

Mother Tongue is the local Language of Nature for that part of the world, nourishing both the individual and the collective consciousness of society.

Dr Crowell presented a gift from Dr Chris Crowell, Global Minister of Religion and Culture for the Global Country of World Peace—in appreciation of the International Congress of the Global Mother Divine Organization celebrating Total Knowledge Based Culture. The gift was a map of the over 7,000 Traditional Languages of the World—displaying Nature's expressions of Mother Tongue around the world for the whole Congress to enjoy.

With the wisdom of the eternal Vedic Tradition of knowledge, and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Technologies of Consciousness made available to every local culture, all traditions will be awakened to their full potential and blossom in the fullness of Heaven on Earth.

A beautiful highlight of the session was a videotaped lecture by Maharishi on the 'shortcut to world peace and harmony' through the establishment of groups of Yogic Flying students studying in their Mother Tongue.

Delegates also received a printed summary of 'Maharishi's Fundamentals of Culture: Harmonizing the ever-changing nature of progress with the non-changing nature of culture.' The Fundamentals are: Stability, adaptability, integration, purification, and growth.

Dr Crowell concluded her presentation with a quotation from Maharishi:

'Cultural Integrity means all those values which are necessary to culture life, and to live life spontaneously in the direction of evolution. The result of cultural integrity is happiness, affluence, and harmony within the nation and complete impenetrability from any disturbing influences from outside. Cultural integrity is therefore the foundation stone of invincibility for every nation.'

The evening session continued with the presentation about the Global Alliance of the Revered Indigenous Mothers, which will be featured in an upcoming Global Good News article.
