The Global Country of World Peace holds its grand global celebration of the full moon day of Guru Purnima on Sunday, 25 July. This special day-long celebration will take place in MERU, Holland and at the Global Capital of World Peace in the Brahmasthan (geographical centre) of India. There will also be celebrations in countries around the world, connected to and enjoying the live global Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3.

The live Internet webcast begins at 11:15 a.m. Central Europe Time (CET) — 4:15 a.m. US Central Time (US CT).

Guru Purnima is the day in the Vedic Calendar that is dedicated to honouring the Masters of the eternal Vedic Tradition of knowledge, who throughout time have upheld the supreme wisdom of life. In this generation this wisdom has been brought to the world through the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Vedic Science, through the blessings of his Master, Shri Guru Dev*—to bring enlightenment to every individual and invincibility to every nation.

The celebration will include traditional Vedic recitations by Maharishi Vedic Pandits in the Brahmasthan of India and in MERU, Holland. A special highlight will be the video replay of a historic address by Maharishi from a past Guru Purnima celebration. Sunday's celebration will be held in the presence of Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, in the assembly of Rajas, Raj Rajeshwaris,*** global Ministers and National Directors of the Global Country.

The Guru Purnima Day celebration will culminate in the evening with a special live concert** in MERU, part of the first Maharishi Gandharva Veda Festival for World Peace. The concerts are being held in the beautiful setting of Maharishi's Peace Palace. Internationally renowned Gandharva Veda musicians will perform on a floating platform in a pond with coloured fountains, lighted Vedic arches, and ornaments, surrounded by gardens and forest. The evening will culminate with Maharishi Vedic Pandits performing special Vedic recitations for world peace.

The celebration of Guru Purnima Day is the highlight of the global Guru Purnima Assembly, which began in MERU 23 July, with leaders and members of the Global Country of World Peace gathered from around the world. The Assembly includes many delegates from the Third International Congress of the Global Mother Divine Organization,*** which convened in MERU from 19 to 23 July.

The Assembly will continue in the following days, with reports from Global Country leaders from Maharishi's worldwide organizations.
