India: Maharishi's insights into Vedanta featured prominently in new published proceedings of international congress - was keynote address

An invited keynote address on Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's insights into Vedanta, presented at a large international congress in New Delhi last year, is featured prominently in the newly published, nearly 900-page book of the congress proceedings.

The text of the keynote address—'Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Insight into Vedanta, the Ultimate Knowledge of Life, and its Application to Bring World Peace – from Philosophy to Science'—appears at the beginning of Modern Perspectives on Vedanta: Proceedings of the 20th International Congress of Vedanta.

Lothar Pirc, Founder and Managing Director, Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre Bad Ems, Germany, and an authority in the application of Maharishi's Vedic Science in health care, was invited to present the keynote address at the Congress, which was held at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, in December 2011.

The address was given in the form of a PowerPoint presentation, prepared by Mr Pirc together with Dr Girish Momaya, Director of Maharishi Vedic University, Netherlands, and Dr Susan Brown, professor at Maharishi University of Management, USA.*

Recently Mr Pirc and Dr Momaya reviewed the main themes covered in the Congress presentation and in the 25-page published paper, including many aspects of Maharishi's knowledge and programmes.

The PowerPoint presentation was received enthusiastically by the audience at the Congress. Many attendees wanted to learn more about Maharishi's approach to Vedanta and his worldwide achievements, particularly the numerous practical applications of Vedanta through his technologies of consciousness — Transcendental Meditation and its advanced programmes.

Among many aspects that drew great interest was the extensive scientific research on Maharishi's technologies, which have been shown to reduce stress and violence, improve health, and create coherence, harmony, and a better quality of life in society. As expressed in the presentation title, Maharishi's ultimate practical application of Vedanta is his programme to create world peace.
