UK: Maharishi Garden Village, Suffolk, featured in new book

A new book about Maharishi Vastu Architecture and city planning includes an illustrated chapter about Maharishi Garden Village in Suffolk, England. Much of the book—Vastu City Planning: Sustainable Cities in Harmony with Natural Law—is dedicated to Vastu developments already completed in different parts of the world, which includes Maharishi Garden Village.

The chapter was produced by members of the team that coordinates Vastu building in the UK. Written by Richard Johnson, who led the project, and illustrated with photographs of the different house types taken by David Williams, it is a tribute to the achievement of building one of the first Maharishi Peace Colonies in the world (as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi liked to refer to such developments).

Maharishi Vedic City in Iowa, USA, and nearby Abundance Ecovillage (one of the first off-the-grid developments in that country) are also covered in detail. In addition, there are illustrated examples of Maharishi Vastu buildings in many different countries including Japan, Thailand, India, Israel, Germany, and Argentina.

The book presents a wonderful vision of how buildings constructed according to Maharishi Vastu Architecture, buildings that are in tune with Natural Law, can create a coherent and nourishing influence on their inhabitants, resulting in greater success, health, wealth, and happiness.

It shows how, used together with other programmes brought to the world by Maharishi—including Transcendental Meditation and the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi programme, Maharishi Ayur-Veda natural health care, and Maharishi Vedic Astrology—Vedic Architecture can create a totally integrated, holistic approach to living in harmony and fulfilment.
