Maharishi University of Management's Institute of Science, Technology and Public Policy hosted a conference on April 20, titled ''Our Conscious Future,'' to discuss how the latest advances in mind, body, society, and the study of consciousness are converging to create new paradigms for humankind.

Speakers included Father Gabriel Mejia, who has helped rescue over 100,000 disadvantaged children from the streets of Colombia since 1984 and has introduced the Transcendental Meditation technique to over 12,000 children in the past twelve years. Father Gabriel shared that the success of his program is based on his philosophy of offering love and spirituality in his rehabilitation shelters.

Another distinguished guest speaker was Dr. Pamela Peeke, Discovery Health TV medical host, NIH medical researcher, and best-selling author. Dr. Peeke discussed the neurological basis of food addiction and her groundbreaking research on how the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique can help people recover from these addictions.

Institute director Dr. John Hagelin, world-renowned quantum physicist, science and public policy expert, and educator, explored the latest breakthroughs in quantum physics, consciousness, and our ability to manifest individual and collective desires.

Also speaking were revolutionary mathematician and inventor Thomas McCabe; pioneering researchers Dr. Keith Wallace and Dr Fred Travis on the brain signatures of high-performance individuals; sustainability bioneer Lonnie Gamble; Dr. Robert Schneider, physician and researcher in the field of integrative medicine; and Prudence Farrow Bruns, of the Beatles' ''Dear Prudence'' fame, on her journey of becoming one of the first teachers of Transcendental Meditation in 1968 in India.
