Switzerland: International leaders learn about Maharishi's peace-creating technologies of consciousness

The President of Maharishi University of Management, Dr Bevan Morris, returned recently from a tour of Switzerland where he spoke to hundreds of people in Zurich, Basel, Bern, and Geneva.

In Geneva, an international city, meeting with an official of a country suffering from long years of terrorism and war, Dr Morris presented scientific research on the programme to achieve world peace developed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the Founder of Maharishi University of Management. Maharishi's programme is based on his peace-creating technologies of consciousness, Transcendental Meditation and the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi programme.

Research has shown Transcendental Meditation to be highly effective in reducing stress both in the individual and in the social environment. Studies have documented many times in different countries the influence of social coherence produced by large groups of people practising Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques together. This effect of reduced tensions and violence, and increased harmony and peace in the surrounding region has been named by scientists the Maharishi Effect, in honour of Maharishi who first predicted it in 1960.

Also in Geneva, Dr Morris hosted a lecture for dignitaries and leaders of NGOs (non-governmental organizations).

'Dr Morris presented how all of Maharishi's programmes are powerfully achieving peace—the inner peace of the individual, the harmony, progress, and peace within a nation, and lasting peace in the family of nations,' said one attendee, who also noted that the audience was fully engaged in the topic and asked many good questions.

On his Swiss tour Dr Morris also addressed groups of people who practise Transcendental Meditation, including teachers of the technique, discussing many achievements of Maharishi's worldwide programmes and showing a number of fascinating short videos about projects in different countries. Audiences enjoyed hearing about how different parts of the world are being transformed through the application of Maharishi's science and technology of consciousness.
