Bulgaria: 'Valley of Roses' a beautiful setting for training Russian-speaking teachers of Transcendental Meditation

Bulgaria, a country that shares borders with Serbia, Macedonia, Romania, Greece, and Turkey, has two mountain ranges and two great valleys marking its topography. It is situated on the Black Sea and covers about 111,000 square kilometres (about 43,000 square miles).

In the geographical centre of the country, in the heart of the Valley of the Roses, courses for people who practise Transcendental Meditation are offered in a facility that is high up in the mountains. Currently 35 participants from Russian-speaking countries in the larger region are taking a Russian-language training course to become certified as teachers of Transcendental Meditation, said Dr Peter Warburton, Chairman of the Maharishi Foundation, UK; Dr Warburton is an International Director of the Global Country of World Peace,* Netherlands, and administrator for several countries including Bulgaria.

Transcendental Meditation is simple, natural, scientifically validated technique to reduce stress, improve health, and enliven coherence and peace in the collective consciousness of communities, cities, and whole nations.

The course facility is situated perfectly according to the cardinal directions, Dr Warburton said, with an east-facing entrance—principles of orientation considered important for the health, well-being, and success of a building's occupants, according to Maharishi Vastu architecture.

He also reported on the Total Knowledge Course recently taught in the same location. Dr Warburton worked closely with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Transcendental Meditation programme, over several years in developing the Total Knowledge Course and has presented it in a number of countries. The course goes deeply into the knowledge of consciousness and is the culmination, he said, of Maharishi's descriptions of the development of higher states of consciousness. Dr Warburton related some of the experiences described by Total Knowledge Course participants in Bulgaria, for example:

'What I was able to capture is, everything in the universe is one whole and each of us is part of this whole.'

Participants also noted that the course gave them 'more profound knowledge' about what happens during their practice of Transcendental Meditation and the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme.

The course starts with the introduction of the central, all-inclusive Total Knowledge chart Dr Warburton helped develop, showing the different fields of knowledge and how they are rooted in the Unified Field of all the laws of nature—the underlying, universal field of pure intelligence—Total Knowledge—at the foundation of the entire universe and of all fields of knowledge. Having located the field of Total Knowledge, the course 'zooms in' on this field and analyzes, step by step in great detail, all the aspects of natural law contained within it; and how the field of consciousness becomes matter, the physiology, and the whole physical universe.

By the end of the course students have received an 'encyclopedic overview' of the immense range and depth of knowledge Maharishi brought to light in his Vedic Science and technologies of consciousness.
