Creating national invincibility through individuals creating a 'beautiful, coherent, harmonious, evolutionary influence' - Maharishi

In the continuation of an address given in Seelisberg, Switzerland, on 21 October 1977, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Transcendental Meditation programme and the Global Country of World Peace,* explained further how invincibility can be structured on the level of whole societies and nations. This can be achieved, Maharishi said, through education that gives individuals the ability to awaken and function from the deepest level of their consciousness, which he describes as the 'home of all the laws of nature',** and from there create only an evolutionary influence of coherence and harmony in society. A central element of such an education is twice-daily practice of Transcendental Meditation and its advanced programmes.

Maharishi's historic 1977 address, 'Celebrating invincibility to every nation', was featured recently during an international conference at Maharishi European Research University (MERU) in Holland on 3 October.

Maharishi went on to say,

'Regarding the principle of invincibility, we have been talking about it all the time, and invincibility depends upon one's own integrity of the structure, and the invincibility of the structure. Here we are talking about the structure of national consciousness and all that a nation is composed of. The invincibility is impenetrability from outside destructive influences, and this impenetrability from destructive influences from outside depends upon the integrity of the internal structure.

'So when we are announcing invincibility to every nation, that is on the basis of our methodology of structuring coherence, integration, inside the structure of every national consciousness, and that we do on the basis of our knowledge of the home of all the laws of nature. We can educate the individuals to function from that home of all the laws of nature and from there create only evolutionary influence.

'When a society creates evolutionary influences only, and not derogatory and destructive influences, for itself, within its own structure, then it emanates that influence. A green bulb will always emanate green light. A red bulb will emanate red light. A coherent, integrated, orderly society will emanate the influence of coherence, integration, life-supporting value, orderliness, evolution. When a nation radiates evolutionary influence, that will be a joy to the whole family of nations.

'This is our theme in bringing invincibility to every nation. We needed just a few individuals and that we have seen. In so many countries we already have those individuals who are functioning more and more, as the days go by, in accordance with all the laws of nature. And therefore on the basis of that beautiful, coherent, orderly, harmonious, and evolutionary influence created by these blessed individuals practising Transcendental Meditation and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme in different parts of the world—it is on the basis of that influence they create that we are ringing the bells of invincibility to every nation.'

Towards the end of his 1977 address, Maharishi said,

'We have that golden vision to see only the right things, because we know the power of good is greater than any other power; and we see the power of good rising in the world. So it's not on the basis of hope to humanity that we are celebrating invincibility to every nation, but we are seeing the signs of every nation rising to invincibility.'

Over the nearly four decades since Maharishi gave this address in 1977, his programmes to bring full human development—enlightenment—to every individual and invincibility to every nation have been adopted widely throughout the world. Many peer-reviewed, published scientific research studies have documented the rise of positive trends in the collective consciousness of nations and the world resulting from groups of experts practising Maharishi's peace-promoting technologies of consciousness. The application of Maharishi's programmes in this context is known as Invincible Defense Technology (IDT).
